Independent Floral Designer
The art of Floral Design must be approached with passion. It must be viewed as sculptural and with an artful eye. Fine Floral Artistry should evoke responses from all the human senses with movement of lines, proportion of scale, texture and scent. Once these approaches are incorporated with a passion for the art, an over all aesthetic appeal that invites its audiences to not only view but participate, becomes an overwhelming force. Floral arrangements should be a feast for the human senses. When done well, it captivates and communicates to its audience, passion, beauty and intrigue.
Time, trial and exposer to the work of innovative thinkers such as Hitomi Gilliam have influenced and challenged me to challenge myself by not only replicating the skills and ideas of others, but taking those influences and using their ideas to force my own creativity into ever changing, constantly new directions.
