Noir. is a fictitious concept I've created, as a way of practicing how to link my ideas to a concrete design. First I created an artist (with a particular look and style), then I created an album concept that would suit herperfectly.
In order to find photographs that best matched my idea, I browsed the images on the Ask & Embla jewelry site (alternative-style jewelry). This enabled me to find a model that best matched my ideas, and that could represent Noir.
I created the front and back of the album cover, as well as the vinyl record label, using Illustrator and Photoshop. The idea in this design was to use blur to represent Noir.'s dark thoughts, but also her uncertainty about her feelings. I also decided to create a logo for her name, which sublimates and emphasizes her eyes: the mirror of her battered soul. The movement in her shadows represents the inconsistency of her thoughts, but also her emotional instability.
