SELF DECONSTRUCTION

Self Deconstruction & A Look At Art
This project aimed to showcase different aspects of my personality through visual art creatively. To achieve this, by creating four other self-portraits using various techniques, such as trying to draw a realistic pencil drawing, a continuous line portrait, abstract collaged portrait. In addition, I created a mixed media portrait inspired by an art movement or contemporary artist's style and technique. Finally, I could choose my preferred material or media for my last piece, either a digital or physical construction.
Self-Representational Portrait
This drawing showcases my wide range of interests, such as music, adventure, technology, and exploring. It represents my creative perspective on the world, incorporating my love for music, thirst for adventure, fascination with technology and space exploration, and passion for travel and fitness.
One Continuous Line Portrait
After that, I created a detailed sketch using a pencil as best as possible. For the initial sketch, I utilised a set of guidelines I had drawn with shapes to accurately depict the visible sections when I looked into a mirror. These were developed as layers. The first layer would consist of large circles to form a rough outline shape, and random lines begin forming into parts of the face before working on further details such as shading, smudging, highlighting and erasing unnecessary.

Final Piece
This artwork mixes different media and represents two sides of me. One side is filled with anxiety, fear, overthinking, and paranoia. I've depicted this side through a canvas mask, symbolising the struggle to break free from these negative emotions. The mask appears to have cracked under pressure, offering me an escape from the chaos in my head. The glimmer of hope in the mask's eye represents my belief that things will eventually improve. The other side of the artwork is bright and colourful, symbolising peace and happiness. It's the opposite of the other side and represents hope, as seen through the eye of the mask.
The side with the light is the opposing half.
The side that is bright and cheerful.
