Ecofiltro is a Mexican company developing affordable filters for houses all around the country. The technology behind it is a simple but effective mix of activated charcoal, clay and colloidal silver. Molded into a conical container that filters through gravity.We were asked to develop a new alternative to compete with existing brands that use stones or other filtering technologies.
We wanted to highlight the beauty of clay and its filtering process. We tried to show the magic through a transparent material with a texture that created light patterns.The result is a shape that blends from a circular inlet at the top to an elliptical base to save space on countertops.It can be placed directly on the edge of any surface or it can be lifted with a ring base to gain height to pour into cups.The guiding principles of the project were affordability, Ecological, No electricity, stackable, easy to clean, easy to manufacture and timeless.
The filter consists of 5 parts for its operation, which are its main body, the filter container of clay and activated carbon, the lid, the base and the steel key for dispensing.
Its conical container is manufactured with natural materials, does not require chemicals or electricity, is socially responsible, economical and has a useful life of 2 years.
It is available in three finishes: Light Amber, Pure White and Vibrant Blue
