Fattomano Bristol Cider labels

Fattomano Bristol Cider
Hand-printed labels for hand-made cider, pressed with a hand-built cider press

Fattomano means ‘made by hand’ in Italian, the cider apples were collect from the orchard of a little, old Italian man living in deepest Somerset.

The designs are inspired by Italian futurism and feature shapes from the machinery of the handmade cider press. Each label features a decorative drinking glass, idolising the type of fancy vessel the consumer could use to savour the ceremony and special occasion of drinking the cider. The labels also suggest some cider drinking situations, such as beside a roaring fire, under the moonlight, on a picnic blanket, surrounded by friends at a party or looking out at the view from the top of a hill in glorious sunshine.

The labels have a monoprinted layer of handmade yellow textures, then a two layer screenprint in red and blue made with hand cut stencils, and finally the linoprinted typography. The textures of the labels stand out beautifully on the glass bottles.

A well as bottle labels the branding includes beermats and printed brown packaging paper featuring more fancy drinking glasses in a repeated pattern.
