A Handful of Feathers

This book tells the story of my grandfather, Meinhard Uken, a man of tradition and proud of his German heritage. It is based on the idea of holding onto a tradition or legacy, and how this translates to the world we build around us and the objects that we keep. I found inspiration in my grandparent’s home and the ornaments they have collected over the years. Each object was chosen to correlate with specific times in his life that I wanted to emphasize.
