Overview

Bloomate is a combination of 'Bloom' and 'Mate' and means a plant life partner who smokes life in your own space.
It is an apartment window-type plant hydroponic cultivator that can conveniently grow plants in an indoor space using spray-type hydroponic

cultivation technology.
Bloomate will be able to utilize not only plant cultivation but also the interior of the space in a variety of new ways.

Bloomate는 'Bloom(피움)'과 'Mate(친구)'의 합성어로 나만의 공간 속에서 생명을 피우는 식물 생활 파트너를 의미합니다.

분무식 수경재배 기술을 사용하여 실내 공간에서 식물을 편리하게 재배할 수 있는 아파트 창호형 식물 수경재배기 입니다.

Bloomate는 식물 재배 뿐만이 아닌 공간의 인테리어를 다양하고 새롭게 활용할 수 있을 것입니다.

Background

Planterior

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised interest in gardening and plant care, creating a plant terrier trend.

As people spent more time at home, they turned to planteriers as a way to relieve stress and anxiety and create a more aesthetically pleasing environment. This trend has led to a surge in demand for indoor plants and gardening supplies.

코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 원예 및 식물 관리에 대한 관심이 높아져 플랜테리어 트렌드가 생겨났습니다.

사람들이 집에서 더 많은 시간을 보내면서 사람들이 스트레스와 불안을 해소하고 보다 미학적으로 만족스러운 환경을 조성하는 방법으로 플랜테리어에 눈을 돌렸습니다. 이러한 추세로 인해 실내 식물 및 원예 용품에 대한 수요가 급증했습니다.

Concept

Window type plant cultivator

Plants in the plant cultivator wanted to create a wide environment by going in and out of the house. As the type of apartment housing in Korea increases, I wanted to design a window type home plant cultivator that can use the veranda fence together.

창호형 식물재배기

식물재배기의 식물이 실내와 실외를 드나들며 폭넓은 환경을 만들어주고자 하였습니다. 대한민국의 아파트 주거 형태가 증가함에 따라 베란다 펜스를 함께 활용할 수 있는 가정용 창호형 식물재배기를 디자인하고자 하였습니다.

Ideation

It is designed to provide rapid growth and yield of plants by utilizing an Aeroponics(spray hydroponic) system in the environment of the product and supplying sunlight and rainwater in the environment other than the product.

제품 내의 환경에서는 분무식 수경재배 시스템을 활용하고, 제품 외의 환경에서는 햇빛과 빗물을 공급함으로서 식물의 빠른 성장과 수확량을 제공하도록 구조를 설계하고 디자인하였습니다.

블루메이트는 창호형에 알맞은 형태와 수경재배기의 구조로 디자인 되었습니다.

Product dimension & Final output

Size

The stable installation was possible by referring to the size of the apartment veranda window and fence.

아파트 베란다 창문과 펜스의 크기를 참고하여 안정적인 설치가 가능하게 하였습니다.

Aeroponics (분무식 수경재배 시스템)

Aeroponics is a cultivation method that sprays water and aqueous solutions into the air at plant roots, providing an oxygen-rich and nutrient-rich environment at the roots, providing faster growth and yield compared to conventional salivary hydroponics.

분무식 수경재배는 식물 뿌리에 물과 수용액을 공기 중에 분사 시키는 재배 방식으로, 이는 뿌리에 산소가 풍부하고 영양분이 풍부한 환경을 제공하여 기존의 담액식 수경재배에 비해 더 빠른 성장과 수확량을 제공합니다.

Supplying Sunlight

Sunlight provides the optimal light wavelength spectrum needed for plant growth and plays an important role in photosynthesis.
On the other hand, Plant LED provides only certain wavelengths of light, and sunlight provides more free and abundant photosynthesis.

햇빛은 식물 성장에 필요한 최적의 광 파장 스펙트럼을 제공하며 광합성에 중요한 역할을 합니다.

반면 식물 LED는 특정 파장의 빛 만을 제공하는데 햇빛 공급으로 더 자유롭고 풍부한 광합성을 이뤄냅니다.

Supplying Rain

Rainwater is an important natural water source for plants and provides various nutrients to help them grow.
It contains essential minerals such as nitrogen, which are important for growth, to promote healthy plant growth and sustainability.

빗물은 식물에게 중요한 천연 물 공급원이며 식물이 자라는데 도움이 되는 다양한 영양분을 제공합니다.
성장에 중요한 질소와 같은 필수 미네랄이 포함되어 건강한 식물 성장과 지속 가능성을 촉진 시킵니다.
