This book is inspired by the journey of a double-arm amputee, former Paralympic athlete, and Chef de Mission of the South African Paralympic team, Pieter Badenhorst. Pieter lost both his arms when he touched live power cables at the age of five. The book’s title can be interpreted literally, ironically, and metaphorically. Literally, Pieter grabbed live power lines (ropes), which caused his injuries. Ironically, it is not possible for a double amputee grab something but, metaphorically, he is able to grab the opportunities that come his way.
