In February of 2023, 34 newborns tragically died in the Dominican Republic due to an outbreak of infection in the Los Mina maternity ward. But this news is not released until the end of April and by then, the number had risen to 72 children. This supposed outbreak originated from a newborn contaminated with a type of infection yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

We teamed up with Dominican singer and songwriter, Diego Jaar, to create an audiovisual which segues from a music video for his song “La Madre Muerte” to a 2-minute report about the health crisis that is happening in the country since 2014.

But the fear remains the same: that the situation will continue until it breaks out again. There are solutions already proposed, but our objective with this video is for them to be carried out urgently and not remain in promises, because every second that passes is another life that is being lost somewhere in the country.

At the end of the video, we invite the audience to tag the people they think can accelerate this process, for example: Luis Abinader, the President of the Dominican Republic.
