Between Scylla and Charybdis. Moving rocks.
"Lisa's Odyssey", I continue the myth of the little and dreamy girl Lisa. I remind you that my heroine reads Homer's Odyssey and meets the same heroes and places where Odysseus was. I combined two stories in my project. Digital art. The work was done in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
Moving rocks. Symplegades -(Greek Συμπληγάδες “colliding”) in Greek mythology are rocks floating at the entrance to Euxine Pontus: colliding, these rocks destroyed ships. Homer's Odysseus and his ship are being tested. In our story, Lisa and her Brave Unicorn pass this test. The unicorn turns into a dolphin and the rocks let our argonafts through. Symplegades in a figurative sense mean a two-sided simultaneous danger. If you look at the philosophical aspect of this myth, then compromise and resourcefulness, the ability to bypass sharp corners, is important here.
Движущиеся скалы. Симплегады (греч. Συμπληγάδες «сталкивающиеся») в греческой мифологии — скалы, плавающие у входа в Эвксинский Понт: сталкиваясь, эти скалы уничтожали корабли. Одиссей Гомера и его корабль проходят испытания. В нашей истории Лиза и ее Храбрый Единорог проходят это испытание. Единорог превращается в дельфина и скалы пропускают наших аргонафтов. Симплегады в переносном смысле означают двустороннюю одновременную опасность. Если посмотреть на философский аспект этого мифа, то здесь важен компромисс и находчивость, умение обходить острые углы.

He predicts danger to her on her journey. Proteus (ancient Greek Πρωτεύς) - in ancient Greek mythology, a sea deity; son of Poseidon and Hera. He had an extraordinary ability to reincarnation (metamorphosis), took on any guise. Proteus is invisible and elusive, like a stream of our thoughts, conjectures, premonitions and expectations. James Joyce, in Ulysses, calls this "the irresistible modality of the visible." Everything that we observe in our life is part of our being. We cannot get away from what are the prerequisites and our actions now.
На берегу Лиза встречает Протея. Протей – это все, что она видит и не видит на берегу: чайки, облака в виде рыб, существо в море, само море, берег и все, что море вынесло на берег. Between Scylla and Charybdis
When Odysseus and his companions passed through the narrow strait between Scylla and Charybdis, he lost six of his comrades. Our heroine Liza was warned by the elusive god Proteus about the danger. Therefore, her magical unicorn, Brave, turned into a Pegasus and they passed the danger. The wisdom of the episode is that the hero does not rush from one extreme to another. When we find ourselves in front of the abyss - Harbda (whirlpool, hopelessness and darkness and fear), it is important not to rush to the other extreme, stumble upon Scylla (unbridled emotions, anger and aggression) Grow your wings of wisdom and fly without obstacles.
Когда Одиссей и его спутники прошли через узкий пролив между Сциллой и Харибдой, он потерял шестерых своих товарищей. Наша героиня Лиза была предупреждена неуловимым богом Протеем об опасности. Поэтому ее волшебный единорог Храбрый превратился в пегаса, и они миновали опасность. Мудрость эпизода в том, что герой не бросается из крайности в крайность. Homecoming
In the story “Little Lisa's Odyssey” I use myths and legends from different cultures of the world. It was important to me to combine the past and the present in this project. In order to create something new, and move forward you need to know about the past achievements of human culture. Perhaps someone will read Homer's Odyssey and Iliad and be inspired to create something new. New myths and stories are created using the modern opportunities that digital technology provides. All of these works can be purchased on OpenSea and Rarable, for those who collect NFT art. These works were an experiment, I wanted to bring something new to NFT, rather a bit forgotten from the culture of the past, combine it with modern blockchain art ;-) .
