Harvard Design Magazine

Harvard Design Magazine #37

This issue of Harvard Design Magazine is solely devoted to the study of building skyscrapers and whether skyscrapers should be built for symbolic purposes or for sustainability. Sustainability more often than not, refers to technological prowess in reducing energy consumption and natural damage. Building skyscrapers in this day and age is consuming more energy than ever. Which brings forth the question, does size really matter? or can we find a way around it.

To convey the sense of awe and wonder that is felt when seeing a skyscraper in person, the music and video plays a crucial role in this digital publication. The music used in videos is always very open and magical which allows the viewer to let his/her mind wander. While the videos achieve a similar effect by using the same angle in communicating with the viewer, for example, time lapse videos are used to depict skyscrapers talked about in articles.
