Exercise 1-
This was a very difficult task for me to grasp. I wanted to make a simple game. I feel like with every one of these projects, I overthink every step. My color scheme is based on fun basic colors. I wanted the tic-tac-toe to look like it was actually written on a piece of paper. I also made the wood in the background to try to make it look like it was on a table or desk.
Exercise 2-
I created an R for Rose on this project because my daughter's middle name is Rose and I felt inspired. I worked really hard on this project and it was the first time that I used Illustrator on the iPad, so that was a learning curve. I tried to make the middle of the rose lighter and use white in the background of the middle so that it looks like an R.
Project 1-
I worked very hard on the flat version of my isometric illustration. After many thumbnails and rough sketches, I decided to create an illustration of my cuckoo clock for this project. The color scheme is based on my actual clock. I think I have learned so much already about creating in Illustrator.
Project 2-
For the monochromatic illustration, I chose to illustrate my Polish pottery teacups. They are very special to me because I got them in Poland on mission trips that I went to every year for 8 years. I tried very hard on this piece and got to learn how to use gradients, patterns, and textures.
Project 3-
My book cover designs are based on my 13-year-old daughter's comic books. She has been drawing them for years and I have been saving them and hoping to make them into digital comic books at some point and this was a great opportunity to do that. The comic books are based on our dogs and the crazy lives she imagines them to live!
