Comic Cosplay - Concept Shoots

Being given the opportunity to work with a cosplay on a shoot at a location of their choosing is always fun. Working with superheroes is even better when you live near a large city. From start to finish, these shoots gave an excellent challenge to both the cosplayers and me as their photographer. How can we make it look like it is a still frame taken straight out of a movie or show?

Harley Quinn - @savscosplay - NoDa
Harley Quinn is one of the craziest characters of DC Comics. With this shoot we aimed to capture her insanity, beauty, and fun-loving nature.
Spider Gwen - @savscosplay - Uptown Charlotte
Another fun character cosplay to shoot, Spider Gwen once again provides a unique and fun challenge. We worked to give the shoot a feeling of a superhero out on the city looking to lend a hand.
The shot on the left is style to feel look like someone caught Gwen out while she was working.
The center shot was edited to look like a shot from 'Into the Spiderverse.'
The final shot on the right was one of Gwen getting ready to swing off into the city.
Nightwing - @aquatarious_cosplay - Uptown Charlotte
One of Gotham's finest, creating an atmosphere similar to the dark and dreary city in the sunny city of Charlotte was a fun challenge. We both got lucky and unlucky in the down pour that occurred during the shoot.
The shot on the left is styled to look like Nightwing peering out over the city of Gotham, an eye out for any crime.
The center shot a simple profile shot to capture the beautiful sunset and city behind us. It was pouring when the shot was taken.
The final shot on the right is styled to look like it was taken by an amateur photographer. This shot was to look like a young Tim Drake caught a cool shot of one of his favorite vigilantes.
