Tabletop Fireplace

Table Top Fireplace
For my final project this year in my CRT 320 class, I made a table top fireplace. Have you ever been studying and craving a snack? Like specifically marshmallows? Boy, do I have the solution for you.
I designed the metal insert in Fusion 360. The post processed this file into g-code for the plasma cutter.
This is what the metal pieces looked like, after I cut them out and polished them. I wanted to keep the rustic look so I simply made them shiny and smooth rather than completely polished.
I learned how to tig weld for the first time and this is how I pieced the metal insert together. If you'll notice, there is ceramic cotton in the inside so that the bioethanol that we will use will be soaked up and be able to be burned easily and for a long time.
As you can see, to add some personalization to this project, I cut out a hole in a piece of wood for the insert to go in. Then I put it on smaller blocks of wood to act as feet. Then I stained all of the wood. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this project and I learned a lot of new skills.
