Walmart Supercenter (Destin, FL) Mural Illustration for NOW Art Public Art Agency
I was approached and hired on as a freelance illustrator by NOW Art to design and illustrate mural art for the Destin, Florida Walmart Supercenter store. I would digitally paint a large scale work that would then be later printed and installed on the entrance vestibule wall by a local specialty company. This was part of Walmart's country wide rejuvenation project, to have each Supercenter better reflect the town/area that it resided in.
The goal of the project for me was to best show the importance and weight that fishing and marine life as a whole has on this beach town. Destin is nothing without the Gulf of Mexico, and the work it does to help protect the beach and its waters is clear. Its a relationship that any local holds with pride, and the final theme that helped glue together the iconography required from the store manager in the final painting.
