PIPE IT UP!!!
HERO IMAGE
Pipe It Up is a speaker designed for entertaining guests when hosting a party or other public gatherings. Using a sound sensor Arduino, the lights can draw attention to the acrylic box as they flicker to the beat of the music, providing a unique aesthetic that will make guests want to “break it down” on the dance floor.
INITIAL SKETCH
For the design, I removed the mainframe of a busted speaker I owned and connected the device to a car door speaker, which provided a better sound and allowed the speaker to connect to other devices via Bluetooth.
Most speakers, especially subwoofers, are assembled using wood because it allows the case to bend as the vibrations of the music are funneled through the built-in channels of the speaker. Because this is an acrylic box, it does not possess the same properties as wood, which is why PVC pipes are used to direct the flow of vibrations throughout the case of the speaker.
