Branding and collateral for Seattle Art Museum's 2014 special exhibition, Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion.

Over 3 decades of tremendous innovation of Japanese fashion designers, who revolutionized the way we think of fashion today, were shown for the first time in Seattle.

The title treatment I chose to set in was Hoefler&Co.’s Gotham Condensed and included a custom-made kanji character exhibition title above it. This was inspired by Japanese versions of Western movie posters of the 1950s and 60s. For the poster the garments were clear cut and set against a bright, radial gradient background of colour to appear to outwardly glow. This created a 3 layering effect between the background, the garment, and finally the title.
