Blackletter style (German gothic) because globalization, social media, online art galleries, beer and german food market, tatoos, graffiti and Hip-Hop culture, and many many sources and influences trading, Fraktur is one of most beautiful blackletter style, more alive and present than ever, everyday, everywhere.

In order to find some local adaptation to our latin culture the current project has as target reach some reasonable level of readability for latinamerican people and impulse as future market product.

The project starts with a freestyle experimental and practical research trying to find stylistic links with some ancient latin graphic features.

Next step was extend some strokes to define some own fraktur style

First challenge was solve the latinization about the "A", finally decide to do some illumitated latin initials similarities.

Inlike classical fraktur "E" this one is a triple arm, very close to "e" structure but even more robust.

Some experimental test was rotate some letters upside down, wich reveals some interesting as this "D" originally coming from a "G". effect knowed, in the calligraphic context, as "ambigram"

another ambigram result was the "h" coming from a rotated "y"

The solution for "I" to separate from "J" look, was do it as simple as a straight vertical stroke.

Traditionally type design some component of a letter (as finials, links, or flourishes) can be used as a iterated module, here the flourished loop of this "N" belong to a rotated "U"

Normal version of "Y" wich one can be rotated to form an ambigraphic "h"

This latinized "U" was another hard challenge to solve to separate it from the traditional fraktur "A" similarity.
