For BROADVIEW TV we developed the title sequence, of “Angela Merkel im Lauf der Zeit”, a documentary about the former German chancellor. It was important to the director, Torsten Körner, that the design harmonized with the cinematic look and combined with each other. As for the typography, the special feature was that we created it from the existing letters of the cinema billboard. This gives it a very characteristic, authentic and deliberately imperfect typeface & motion design to work with in a very pure and unique style. The way the letters were haptically inserted into the billboard was the template for the typo animation.
