Semillas App - Entrepreneurship Training

Semillas App
Project overview

The product:
"Semillas” is an application project where small entrepreneurs can learn to manage their business with courses, they can also apply the knowledge learned with the tools included in the app.

The problem:
In Mexico the informal economy is a very serious problem; many people engaged in this type of business would like to carry out their activities in a regular manner, but they doesn't know how to do it.

The goal:
Design an app that will improve education on the topic of business administration and some basic tools to achieve it.
UNDERSTANDING THE USER
User research
I used data from an article to develop the interview questions, which were then used to conduct the user interviews. Most of the interview participants stated that users would be open and willing to work to learn how to regularize their businesses and contribute to society by if they had access to an easy-to-use tool to guide them.
User persona
Problem statement
Margarita is a hairdresser owner who needs guidance to regularize her business because she wants to open branches in other neighborhoods
Problem statement
Juan is a corn peddler who needs to learn how to manage his business because he wants to be more profitable and expands his business

User Story
“As a small business owner with very little free time, I want to be able to learn about business and management through devices, to develop my business and improve my profits.”
User Journey Map
The User journey map for Margarita revealed that users want to know more about new business ideas and how to implement them and launch them, they also feel a little hesitant to regularize their business and start paying the corresponding taxes.

User flow
This is the main user flow for learn with mini courses and use the management tools. This helps us in understanding ways users can interact with the product, as well as allowing us to see navigation through user goals.
Competitive Audit
An audit of a few competitor’s products provided direction on gaps and opportunities to address with the Semillas App
Wireframes
I did a quick ideation exercise to come up with ideas for how to address gaps identified in the competitive audit. My focus was specifically on made simple the learning section of the app
Refined wireframes
After ideating and drafting some digital drawing wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Semillas app. These designs focused on delivering personalized guidance to users to help manage their business.
Usability test
After creating the prototype from low fidelity wireframes, I design a usability test with four tasks. I asked five different participants to complete the tasks in the prototype in hopes of garnering enough feedback to use for my next set of design iterations.
Affinity Mapping
I divided the observations from the usability testing sessions into these categories:
Test results
Mockups
PROTOTYPE
In the next section you can try the final prototype for "Semillas" app
