The Streetdog

FTN's entry into the EV market has made waves globally with its unique design language. The Streetdog is a modern interpretation of a classic café-racer. It combines vintage character with EV practicalities. You dont even need a special license to ride one!
I worked with the team to deliver the brand language across numerous components whilst preparing for scaled-up production.

The primary interface between rider and bike.
I produced a number of potential designs that were visualised through high-fidelity renders.
I used an asymmetric digital display made from machined metal and plastic to create a paired back look that harks back to classic mod culture.
Fenders
One of the hardest working components on the bike, the fenders needed to look awesome whilst standing up to year-round use.
Vacuum formed panels supported by spoke arms and machined lugs continue the theme of modernised heritage and created a bombproof addition.
Saddle sub-assembly
The saddle and rear light hide a hinge detail that gives access to the battery. I explored functional solutions to the challenge of moving the seat past the frame whilst simultaneously developing the aesthetic treatments.
I used simple, 2D elevations to quickly explore a number of upholstery options.
The final design merged the light housing and hinge detail to create an appropriately subtle and understated design that hides the complexity of its function.
The result of my work with FTN Motion is arguably one of the more visually striking E-moto's to hit the market in recent years. The brand is young and dynamic and constantly learning from market feedback and hands on experience.
