capo di tutti capi

capo di tutti capi.
I heart Frank. I think that everyone hearts Frank. (Okay, historically speaking, not everyone - but, most people.) He was, for a time, the capi dei capi. My Grandfather, Donato, knew Frank -  and actually worked with him in Frank's early years bootlegging liquor. My grandad was a jack of all trades. Some people in my family swear that we are of blood relation to Frank, on account of our surname - and our family connections; but in my personal opinion, that's debatable. As all Italians know, "connected don't mean related" - and as Denzel Washington's character Alonzo Harris said in "Training Day,  "It's not what you know, it's what you can prove." By nature, I don't believe anything without proof; and, since I'm a Mayflower Descendant on my mother's side, I place a high value on historical accuracy. My very existence is American History, and that's got to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt before I can even join the club. I see no reason why Italian lineage should be treated any differently - especially whereas it concerns one of the most infamous crime bosses of the twentieth century. Since genealogy is a hobby of mine, I am currently further researching my Calabrian and Sicilian roots to determine (by documentation) whether or not what a majority of my relatives believe, is true.  Either way, the fact that my granddad knew him is pretty rad, and I'm okay with that.

I needed inspiration for an art sketch of Frank that I am currently working on. So, as I was goofing off with apps for my phone, I did these using a combination of a few. I also tweaked a few of them using both Photoshop and Illustrator.
