Folds of beauty. In the north of Spain, in the region of Navarra, a bizarre desert-like landscape formed millions of years ago. Wind and rain continuously deformed a sand-limestone clay mixture. The clay practically does not allow water to seep through, and so new folds and crevasses are constantly forming on the slopes of the hills. The nature reserve in the valley of the Ebro was originally a lake landscape with vegetation at the edges. With the help of the fossils found, it is now possible to determine the approximate age of the landscape. And once again, I realise what a small grain of sand humanity is in direct comparison with this timeless nature.
