Setetes Bulan dan Sebutir Mutiara
"Even hell would feel like warm sunshine in a prairie when I'm with you"
The legend of Eros and Psyche has inspired me to create this artwork. The core idea was forbidden love between a mortal and a goddess. It was love at first sight, and neither of them could prevent it from happening even when they both knew it was not allowed. And the goddess, feeling like the responsible one, was trying to protect her mortal lover from the wrath of the other gods and godesses. Her mortal lover, however, was trying to convince the goddess that no punishment will ever break her, as long as they are still together. They send letters to each other, containing poems to let the other knows how they feel.
The poems also acts as a storytelling medium, to accompany the artwork. And this piece, both the poems and the artwork, are my first attempt on changing my creative direction to one that is more filling to my heart. I had a lot of fun working on them and they freed me from my initial fear of change.
