Renewable lifestyle project: The Vessel
In part of a collaboration with SG Enable tasked to create a family of vessel for People with Disabilities (PWDs) to reproduce with the use of SIA materials through material exploration and fabrication. Hence, Bag 2 Back is bag collection made for couples, staring SIA Lifejacket as the star material.
As part of my prototyping process, I used cardboard as the main form of material to understand the form and structure of how I want my bag to be. In addition to that, I used different types of material that could be found at Serving People with Disabilities (SPDs) Artisan Collab, which were leftover papers and leather scraps. I mainly did form of patchwork for my manipulation method.
Keeping in mind of our chosen target group of PWDs we intend to work with (PWD’s at SPD Artisan Collab), I decided to alter my material manipulation method into something that is repetitive and does not require complicated sewing methods. In addition to that, I was able to use 100% SIA materials, including the Lifejacket and the Leather seat covers.
Introducing RELIFE - purse bag for women in part of the Bag 2 Back couple series. It is paired with the RELUV – a coin purse that can be easily attached to RELIFE. The lifejacket design plastered on the bag allows users to have a sense of identity, as each bag has their own unique lifejacket number.
