Wooden Spoon: MamaSana Donor Gift

MSVW Donor Gift - Wooden Spoon
In my Images in Communication class, my group of three was chosen to design a prototype of a donor gift for Mama Sana Vibrant Woman, a nonprofit that provides prenatal care with cultural and personal relevance to its patients. After many rounds of brainstorming, we decided to create a wooden spoon with a wood-burned leaf icon to represent the themes MSVW holds dear, like life, motherhood, and personal care.
I designed the packaging for the gift. It presents like a large envelope or card that opens up to reveal the gift. The card includes the repeating motif of the leaf, present on the wooden spoon. I wrote and formatted the copy, which thanks the donor for their monetary gift, let's them know what their donation has helped MSVW accomplish, and explains the intent behind including the wooden spoon as a gift.
In this project, we worked closely with the client and communicated with them regularly. I learned a lot about the balance between my own personal design inclinations and the needs of the client, as well as how to work effectively with a design team.
