The bookcases each have an area to hold books slightly larger than the standard hardcover novel size book. The slots that you see on the right can be customized for special books or made a standard size.

 

The joint featured as the bookcases move around the outer corner of the wall is a reinforced miter joint.

 

This was an orthographic drawing that I completed in a prototyping stage. Instead of metal mounting hardware, the final design incorporates a french cleave mounting system.
