Como Conservatory Flowers and Semi-Macros

The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, located in St. Paul, Minnesota's Como Park, is dedicated to enriching the lives of its visitors through beauty and education and to conservation of species. Entrance is through arecent addition hosting the new main entrance and  a new tropical wing (both shared with the Como Zoo), a bonsai gallery (open seasonally), a giftshop, and a snack bar. A door near the bonsai gallery leads into the fern-filled west wing, one of the three original wings surrounding a center dome which was the original entrance, where cool green light filters through palm leaves. The north garden is the older of the two tropical plant wings and is the gateway to the outdoor Japanese garden, only open in the summer. The south wing's sunken garden plays host to 5 seasonal displays annually, usually consisting of flowers more traditional to gardens in temperate climates, with the holiday show usually featuring poinsettias.
