ASPIRE - Children's Hospice

A Pediatric palliative care (PPC) is a specialized comprehensive care approach for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening illness, thus, focus lies on creating a healthcare facility that offers professional palliative care, while facilitating a place for patients and relatives to spend their last time together in a dignifying and comfortable manner.

The goal of this initiative is to create a hospice for kids and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 18. "The dying are still living," goes the project's catchphrase. Aiming to design a place that provides a dignified last resting place for a person in the later stages of life, while also catering to the requirements of the family and personnel.

Located near the Urban forest area at Kalamassery in Kochi, this hospice design relies on theory from healing architecture, palliative care and neuro aesthetics, biophilic and sustainable solutions, as design parameters for the development of a modern and integrated care facility.
