Hilt Tatum IV's profile

Impact Housing Corporation’s Panama-Based Developments

In addition to his professional role as the president of iPoint Capital Partners and Oxford Consulting Group, Hilt Tatum IV applies his investing and leadership skills to charitable work. By founding Impact Housing Corporation (IHC), Hilt Tatum IV builds affordable housing in regions of Panama that need them most.

IHC's housing projects contain a fixed number of units arranged in a neighborhood with a short commuting distance of a city or town. Rather than relying on that location to provide for all of those families' needs, IHC incorporates some amenities, like outdoor spaces and playgrounds, into the developments. A short walk allows families to access public transportation, restaurants, and schools easily.

The neighborhood Sueños de Sona, near Santiago, in the Veraguas province, was IHC's first development and set a precedent for future projects. It contained 307 families who received a spot based on monthly income or family size. Later developments altered this model, like the La Reserva, having houses of a set number of configurations for families to choose from. Sueños de Santiago's eligibility process differed because residents could utilize local initiatives to make home ownership easier for lower-income buyers.
