Tarot Brewster Logo Design

The logo design of Tarot Brewsters is part of a months long educational case study in corporate branding and identity. A good portion of the project was dedicated in creating the logo due to redesigns and revisions. The concept of the design was to resemble a tarot card, to have themes of magic and witchcraft. Once the logo was finalized I realized I needed to design a secondary logo because the intricate details of the main logo would be lost when scaling down. I found the simplest solution was to keep the circle and star from the center of the design–this creates a pentagram which ties into the themes of the occult.
For the packaging of cans and bottles, lines are added to frame the logo. This frame forms a vertical shape and design that is reminiscent to a traditional tarot card. Elements of the logo are also used to create patterns for print work or box packaging.
The original concept was a design more traditional to most breweries. I used the tarot card The Wheel of Fortune as the main inspiration for the design. The first iteration of the design took elements from the design of the card, but overtime the design began to become more abstract. Tarot Brewster's final logo embodies more of what tarot is as a whole as oppose to representing one singular card.
