Since many days, I was looking for an opportunity to make a wedding invite with lots of fun illustrations on it. Illustrations which would depict the essence of an Indian wedding, to be precise a Maharashtrian wedding( Maharashtra- one of the states in India and in which I was born and brought up :). So finally it turned out to be the occasion of my beloved brother's wedding.
Like every other state in India, Maharashtra has its own peculiar style and tradition. And a wedding is a perfect place to experience it!
Almost in all Indian weddings, you will always be welcomed with a gate of Banana trees! They are considered auspicious. So the cover of the invite was definitely going to have a banana tree gate and a Rangoli.
Immediately after you enter through the tree gate, you will be welcomed with specific wedding music( Shehnai & Choughada), though in modern ages its getting replaced by bollywood numbers. And women in beautiful traditional sarees will greet you with showers of perfumed water and flowers.
