A Super8 Project. From analog to digital to analog.
Some years ago, i started buying Super8 Films in ebay and some other platforms. Every day it was a surprise what i could find in my postbox... from simple holiday scenes up to professional supervised car-race-documentations, family tragedys or fascinating landscapes...
But there was such a lot of funny stuff, so i decided with my filmpartners to produce a film about the "Real 70ies" that should be called "REWIND".. so we started producing a trailer with all that stuff, that i had digitized in hundreds of hours over the winter.. the result of the trailer you can see here..but the trailer stayed as a standalone.. we had too much to do with other projects..
Some years later, i had another invitation to an exhibition with a lot of other artists, mostly painters. So i decided to check the material and create a new form of Media Art with layered S8 pictures with single frames of the digitized Super8 material and to print on an absolute analog Buttenpaper with a special fixing on Aludibond.
On each print are 2 Frames combined in an Overlay, you can see the results here. The prints are available and can be printed up to 100x75 cm on every material, the best is dibond/acryl.
