SneakerSocial: The Largest Sneaker Event in New England

SneakerSocial is a startup company that specializes in changing the connotation of sneaker events across the country. Their goal is to provide an experience beyond buying, selling, and trading sneakers by connecting consumers with vendors as well as leading footwear and apparel brands.

Over 3,000 guests attended what is considered "The Largest Sneaker Event in New England" on April 6, 2014 at Gillette Stadium. Guests were not only able to get their hands on some of the most sought after products on the market, but also gain industry insight from guest speakers including Johnny Earle of Johnny Cupcakes, Chad Troyer of Boston EKIN, and Greg Selkoe of Karmaloop.

I was commissioned to design a bold visual identity that would be applied to business collateral, products, and promotional materials. The core asset of logo is the talk bubble to communicate socialization. I opted to use Futura Extra Bold as the type of choice to help the logo pop, while maintaining a familiar look and feel as other logos within the industry. As future events take place, additional elements of the visual identity will be implemented, and the color palette will be adjusted to match that of the subsequent hosting venue.
