Grief – Those Who Remain

Grief – Those Who Remain
Poster Design for the Greek Documentary "Grief – Those Who Remain", directed by Myrto Patsalidou and Maria Louka. Official Selection at the 25th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
In a society plagued by fascist, racist, and homophobic violence, three families are mourning their murdered children and fighting for justice.

The documentary is a descent into the cruel world of loss and mourning through three stories that shook Greek society: The murders of Shahzad Lukman, Pavlos Fyssas and Jac Kostopoulos - ZackieOh. All three cases have a far-right ideological background.
The killings were committed at the hands of either organized fascism or social decision making, creating a mutually feeding system of violence and enforcement, often under conditions of social apathy.

The victims' families remember, mourn and fight. Silence is replaced with action, loneliness with public exposure, sadness with anger. With a basic tool the spontaneity of the experience, the documentary discusses the concepts of absence and trauma, explores human vulnerability through linking the individual with the collective, records the processes of transforming pain into a claim for the refit of society.
Poster is divided in the three characters of the movie. Each person is presented by an image which represents the character and personality of them, while broken letters symbolises the decay of the society.
