Purani Dilli

"Purani Dilli" is a photography project I did on the lanes of Old Delhi. I strongly believe that there are many stories that exist around us and it just require the right eye to see that. At first when I decided to do this project I was confused whether I should pick Old Delhi as my location or not because of the crowd and chaos that coexist on the streets there. But anyways I decided to experience what comes on the way.
At first I decided to observe the surroundings and get familiar with the environment. I have realised that in this fast developing world, there are few place who have survived to maintain their essence and old Delhi is one of them. The place has its own aesthetics, whether it is lehenga shopping or Karim's kitchen you will get everything in its most traditional and affordable manner. Every lane there has a story to be told.
Talking about the other side of the story, I realized that being a female photographer you have to deal with a lot of stares and taunts because of some disturbing elements. But I am glad that I managed to click pictures and experienced this journey to its fullest.
Apart from that I learned how to interact with people and communicate your purpose to them. Although here I have applied street style photography technique, but it is always necessary to brief people about your motive.
Here I present the Street Style Photography on the lames of Purani Dilli.
