Bowl section project
The city of Villa di Serio is well connected by public transports and cycle paths to Bergamo. This makes an easily accessible skatepark. Furthermore it’s a strategic place beetween big cities and locals mountains.
Skateboarding is a kind of individual sport activity that brings to a strong sense of community. A result is more effective, if participatory. In skatepark design this means: adding a section explodes the possibilities of usages.
Today’s skate scene is so free. Different styles merge in new ones and nobody is excluded. To be contemporary the new structure should include more alternatives.
Different heights of the ramps complete each other’s lines.
They push skaters to approach bigger transitions.
Pigmented concrete was study to better match with: existing park, green cyclepath and the nearby river. It’s also usefull to discourage acts of vandalism. Unfortunately this proposal was cut off due to cost reduction.
