The delights of Donna Grazia | Menu
Progetto sperimentale realizzato a scopo personale basando sulla commedia in tre atti “Le delizie di Donna Grazia” scritta da Marcello Amato, mio padre. La commedia si incentra su una trattoria siciliana che sta andando in crisi e i due gestori decidono di farsi aiutare dal spasimante della sorella della protagonista a fare pubblicità al locale che però ha bisogno di essere rimodernizzato. In questo scenario ho pensato di realizzare il menù cartaceo della trattoria ma in modo particolare, ovvero trasformandolo in una sorta di lisca di pesce, ispirata appunto alla struttura piegata Fishbone Fold, ideato dall’artista del libro Hedi Kyle. La scelta di realizzare questa struttura piegata è dato dalle pietanze all’interno del menù che sono per la maggior parte a base di pesce.

Experimental project made for my own purposes based on the three-act play "The Delights of Donna Grazia" written by Marcello Amato, my father. The play centers on a Sicilian trattoria that is going through a crisis and the two managers decide to get the help of the suitor of the protagonist's sister to advertise the restaurant, which, however, needs to be modernized. In this scenario, I thought of making the paper menu of the trattoria but in a special way, that is, by transforming it into a kind of fishbone, inspired precisely by the Fishbone Fold, designed by the book artist Hedi Kyle. The choice to make this folded structure is given by the dishes within the menu, which are mostly fish-based.
