commemorative eatable poetry made in 2006. 18 high quality black chocolate poems by contemporary catalan writers. it was produced to celebrate the 120 years of foix de sarriĆ , a very well known pastry from barcelona that is deeply related with poetry. it was owned by j.v. foix, maybe one of the best european poets from the xx century.
a limited edition of 70 copies was produced, 26 non commercial and numbered with alphabet letters, and 44 numbered for sell. poems by sebastiĆ  alzamora, vicenƧ altaiĆ³, gerard altaiĆ³, miquel bauƧƠ, eduard escoffet, patrick gifreu, Ć ngels gregori, carles hac mor, manel marĆ, melcion mateu, josep pedrals, arnau pons, marc romera, martĆ sales, vĆctor sunyol, Ć ngel terron, jordi vintrĆ³ i ester xargay.
the box was sealed with an original piece by the painter jesĆŗs gadĆ³n, a canvas stripe with the sentence "kunstgeschichte ohne namen" printed in gold, sylkscreen.
we designed the poems using different fonts for each chocolate. the box was designed by using the pastry packaging elements, adding the painter's work. inside the box a transparent sheet of paper with explanation using old catalan newspaper's layout.
a flyer was made as well using the same layout and two stickers from two classic chocolates from the pastry: one with the portait of the poet and the other with a portait of a woman (gertrudis?) that becomes a kind of extra-golden wedding of 120 years. a visual poem.
all production was done at the pastry working tables, so traces of cacau and brown fingerprints can be found anywhere.
