First woodcut on a magnolia block

It's been a while ! This is my first printmaking project of the year and also, my first woodcut on a magnolia block. Previously I tried some plywood. I had a nice feeling but it was a bit too fragile for my kind of lines.
This design is inspired by a scene in Quo Vadis (it can also be a reference to Europa or Dirce).
Carving in progress. I begin to carve the lighter parts because the more I carve, the more it will be easier to see if I reached a good contrast.
First test print
Above, you can see the inked block and the back of the japanese paper I used. It's easier to print on a thin paper so I can see the details while I handprint everything. I don't have a press, so I have a mighty 7 euros wooden spoon (it works).
When I roll on the ink, it happens that some ink go where it shouldn't. I put some scotch on it (that way it won't appear on the final print).
