1984
Project done by Amanda Aliaga, Iago Barreiro and, myself, Andrea Esteban for the IDEP Illustration Postgraduate workshop in stop motion.
We had to choose between a series of books to, later on, create a "book trailer" that had to explain what the book itself was about (trying to avoid spoilers).
We chose 1984 by George Orwell and, even though, not all of us three had read the book, we knew it had to be simple and understandable; we didn't like the idea of giving everything already spoon-fed, so we tried to choose a simple base (tangram = society; hands = big brother) and, from there, we just re-created symbols (liberty, war,...) using the tangram and creating a simple storyline (the symbology was already complex).
This was creating using the stop motion technique with the help of Ivan Bravo.
