Sunday Club Basketball Commemorative Poster 2023
• Concept •
Like the sun that rises everyday, the group will continue to
rise through challenges and adversities.
• Inspiration •
I have always been fascinated by the art of Russian Propaganda posters.
I like how they use bold lines and contrasting colors to depict strength and direct "ideals" that composition suggests.
For this poster, the message that I'm trying to convey is the group shines through darkness, symbolized by the logo made to look like a sun with the names of the members radiating from it. Yellow and Black were used to achieve contrast [battle between light and shadows]. And to drive the point further, the visual has two defenders stumbling backward trying to stop a player[cross between Jordan and Kobe] with the ball on hand
• Details •
This poster contains all of the names of the pioneer members [Logo] and radiating from it are the names of friends and people that had been a part of the group. I have also incorporated the number '20' in the design to mark the group's 20th year.
Detail: Going around the Logo, are the names of the pioneer members. One name is in red to honor our friend who we lost during the pandemic.
Detail: Cubism was used for the shading to give the feeling of hardship or difficulty [that the player is experiencing].
This is the longest time I had ever worked on an artwork [7 months].
