Encircle - Wheel Wrap

Problem
City cyclists often store their bicycle indoors due to lack of safe storage outside. After cycling through adverse weather, the water and dirt is brought inside creating extra hassle for the user.
Brief
To design and manufacture an interior storage solution for bicycles, that allows the user to cleanly and easily store the bike, after riding in bad weather conditions.

The target market are ‘young professionals’, living in large cities, that commute to work on their bike.
Above is the type of cyclist the product will be aimed towards. Where will they store their bike when they return home within the city?
Above is the solution to the brief. The product was designed with a brand in mind. This brand was created in a team before the concept existed.
The product was made in both black and brown versions to cover both gender markets. The brown leather product has a brass logo and brass leather studs where as the black leather wrap has a steel logo and pins.
The bike wrap clips to the back of a bicycle seatpost or the underside of many bicycle frames. 2 magnets at the front of the wrap drop down and clip onto the bike wheel. As the wheel rotates, it pulls out a nylon cover that is wound up inside the shell. When the magnets are unclipped, the cover wraps back inside the shell using a mechanism similar to that of a tape measure.
Here you can see the mechanism inside the shell. As the wheel rotates, it pulls out the cover which winds the mechanism up. As the wheel rotates the other way, the mechanism winds the cover back onto the axel.
