This packaging was created for a University project. We were assigned to create environmentally friendly packaging that encourages reusing, reducing, and recycling.

I decided to use one of my favourites as the subject of my packaging re-design, instant noodles. I wanted not only to re-think the packaging but also the way that the user interacts and uses the product, from the shelf to their table.
The first thing that I did was remove the seasoning from each individual packet of noodles and decided to place them in reusable, refillable glass bottles. This ensures that there is as little waste as possible by removing the throw-away portion of the packaging from each of the individual spice packets.
The next step that I took was repackaging the instant noodles into three different-sized packages.
The packages are made from fully recycled cardboard.

The first is a children's size (a smaller portion), then a regular size, and lastly a family pack, which has five portions in one box. These various options reduce the packaging waste as well as the food waste that could be produced.

I designed the back of each of the boxes to have a different game or brain teaser that would help you to pass time while waiting for your noodles to cook. This adds to the quirky nature of the overall design.
Another part of the brief was to create promotional material for our re-designed product and packaging.
My favourite part was creating a radio advert.

A good friend of mine, whose stage name is Yung Kryptonite, helped me to produce and record the radio advert for my noodle project. I am extremely happy with the result of the advert and think that his voice and the beat that he produced match the advert, and the quirkiness of the new packaging perfectly.
