For one of my theory assignments, I had to identify one technology of my own practice. It might be a tool, technique, strategy, method, device, system, etc. Using images and text, document my own use of this technology, and compare it to how this technology is used by other relevant practitioners.
My strategy/method/system is the DESIGN PROCESS.
The design process catalyses the design development phase for most designers.
It is a powerful tool that acts as a guide to direct designers to reaching a final outcome. With the constant demand for new designs that inspire and are ground-breaking, designers may be pushed to expedite, and fundamental steps may be ignored. However this process cannot be disregarded and is required to secure a substantial result. The steps involved with this process are Define, Research, Idea Generation, Idea Development, Feedback and Revise & Improve. They form the core process and are essential. All design specialisations have distinct outcomes that shape their work. It is imperative to follow the steps of the design process to create a definitive design.
