One for the Road

 

The project  'One for the Road’  is a cover design, where the author wanted to portray a journey down the memory lane through the serpentine by-lanes of Goa’s countryside to locate and study the drinking culture that existed during the pre-Portuguese Goan society and how it has evolved.

 

Paradise loosing its beauty. As urbanization makes its way to this tourist destination.

Goan  Identity  is soon vanishing

 

Recollecting the good old days, I have brought in characters  that made Goa truly what it was then  

Character like the traditional toddy tapper,  The bread man(podherio) who brought me bangles(toast) for tea, fisher women who came with the village stories to your doorstep, people enjoying their veranda's etc

 

Background filled with Coconut trees, fields, hills, rivers, Goan houses with beautiful windows, temples, churches, fields..people celebrating  together etc

A paradise, a home  with deep roots, Where every Goan heart  has grown free to love and play..

It's  wonderful to revisit  my memories  and put them on paper that will  live forever before I too fade away
