Wake is an all-day bar situated in the cosmopolitan streets of the Greek island Mykonos. We were commissioned to design Wake's logotype, and the in-house menus and applications.
We created a contemporary symbol using the letter "W", the first letter of the bar's name. As for its design and form, we drew inspiration from the Cycladic Sea, the wind, one of the most characteristic elements of Mykonos, and from various decorative elements in Wake's interior.
The symbol was paired with the elegant Hermann font from the W type foundry.
For the applications, we used a limited pallette consisting of three main colours. A nightish shade of blue along with white were chosen to hint at the all-day character of the bar - complemented by copper accents, which allude to various details of its interior.
For the texts, we used the Hermann font for the titles and CF Asty for the body text. At the same time, we created a new display font based on our symbol to be embossed on various applications and function as a hidden surprise.
