Drums
For this project I used an image of a drum set that I thought would be perfect to design a Color Collage
With some editing and alternating the color by making them much lighter it came out really nice. It provided me with an idea on what I'm seeing within the photo and how I should utilize other colors.
Because of this edit I was able to see what I was working with. I used an 11 by 17 paper that I cut out with a razor and a ruler. Then after this step I grabbed a pencil by tracing the outline of the image as much as possible.
Next, I used a lot of color paper and mix media or magazines to replicate those colors in the edited image. It was a difficult process of trying to cut out the colors and the magazine pages. However, what made it a little bit easier was to also use a black pen and line it over the pencil sketch. Then when it was time to place the colors on a specific section of the collage, I held up both papers to the light with tape and then traced it again with the black pen. Then cut it out and clue it onto the paper.
Finally, I painted over some areas that were dark or too light. Making the light colors darker and the light colors darker.
