VBAT MEET MARKET – CALL FOR ENTRIES

2nd edition of creative exchange event in Amsterdam and Mexico City

 

The international branding and design agency VBAT is holding an open-call for new design talent linked with a design competition at their second edition of MEET MARKET. The creative exchange event and exhibition is taking place from May 15 - 17 2014 at ‘The Lobster House’ in Amsterdam and from May 16 - 18 2014 at the Residence of the Dutch Ambassador in Mexico City.
 

VBAT challenges young design talent and students to enter the MEET MARKET competition. All entries will be exhibited during both MEET MARKET events, where talent can also pass by to expand their creative network, show their portfolio, follow lectures and enjoy the atmosphere. The best of the best will be invited for 2 weeks creative bootcamp in Amsterdam or Mexico City.

 

Expansion of VBAT MEET MARKET

“We are really proud to present our second edition of MEET MARKET in May”, says Graham Sturt, Creative at VBAT. “Building on the great success of the last MEET MARKET in 2012 we decided to up our game this time by hosting it internationally in two locations - Amsterdam and Mexico City. As MEET MARKET is a creative exchange of work, conversation and opinion about design we felt that holding it across two continents would create a far richer dialogue. In doing so we hope to meet with a diverse range of talent, the best of whom may be invited to join our creative team”.

 

The Competition

VBAT asks young international talent to share their perspective on cultural design. The challenge being to design the look and feel of an airline livery whose destinations are Holland and Mexico. Using elements from Dutch and Mexican culture, the mission is to design the tail fin of a plane. All entries will be exhibited as part of the FLY installation at both MEET MARKET events in Amsterdam and Mexico City.

 

Applicants have until Tuesday 6 May to visit vbatmeetmarket.com and enter their design. Graham Sturt: “As part of MEET MARKET we are always on the lookout for outstanding creative talent. For this edition we are rewarding the winner with a two-week creative bootcamp at one of our international offices.  We hope to attract and challenge the best creative talent from both sides of the globe by offering what will be a fantastic opportunity to experience and be part of an international design agency in another part of the world. A fledgling designer’s career will never get a richer start than this.”

 

 

The Golden Ticket
The winner of VBAT MEET MARKET gets the golden ticket. Based on the exchange idea, a winner from the Netherlands will be invited to VBAT Mexico and a winner from Mexico will be sent to VBAT Amsterdam. He or she will be flown at the agency’s expense*, and will spend 2 weeks living and breathing the commercial creativity of VBAT as he or she will be integrated into our team, work on a real project and rub shoulders with industry experts.
