Design Thinking Poster | University of Toronto

Brief: The University of Toronto Centre for Community Partnerships needed a poster to promote their Design Thinking event, an evening devoted to celebrate the use of design-based thinking as an approach to solve problems.

Conclusion: I decided to create some abstract shapes that look three-dimensional to help emphasize the purpose of the event: traditional one-dimensional thinking may not always solve three-dimensional problems.

I also used the colours cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to reflect the traditional print process using CMYK, and to promote the relationship between design and print. Knowing that design is both traditional and unique, I used a font that marries traditional sans-serif typography and creativity.

Finally, I created three simple shapes using dotted lines that intersect each other, representing simple, unique, and connective thinking.
